I grew up with it, so it's hard to not have some nostalgia when I watch it. That being said, while it's no high art, it's a pretty enjoyable 90's-era adventure film. Fans of Kipling's original work will doubtlessly scoff at how little this has to do with the original story, or any other adaptation of it, but being one of those fans myself, I can still enjoy it for what it is: a slick, fun adventure with a surprisingly great cast and some impressively-trained animals.

I think that, for the visual limitations of the time in which it was made, Disney couldn't have done a finer job than they did with this adaptation. Even the fact that Mowgli is an adult is an acceptable piece of the narrative. One of the best aspects is that it doesn't take itself too seriously; tugging at your heartstrings one moment, then cracking a joke at just the right time. Highly recommended for fans of the story.
