This is a tough one! Having played the bulk of the assassins creed games..i felt they did a good job putting it together. However turning a game into a movie is freaking hard. You have a game which is linear and has missions.. A movie which has an arc..beginning, middle and end. As a movie it wasn't enjoyable.. as an adaptation from a game, it held pretty true to the feel so that was awesome. And the stories were reversed... More back in time and less present time..

The three openings is what screws it up. But I think I know how to fix the movie. Make the child Cal's open just flash backs do to using the animus, start the movie with adult Cal's opening and start Aguilar's opening when Cal first gets put in the animus the first time. Because feeling his ancestors ring fingers being cut off would help explain why he is not syncing up well with his Aguilar's memories. Bring the girl from the deleted scenes in to be a trigger for the bleeding effect.

I fear I must warn you away from this movie. As far as video game movies go, this wasn't too bad. However, as movies go this was a film that lacks much of anything a good movies needs to thrive. The action scenes were alright but a bit too exaggerated. They weren't afraid to use a green screen to supliment actual effects. The dialogue, especially between characters was extremely tacky. The story was not interesting and was fairly difficult to follow. Now, if you are a fan, this movie will be even worse for you. The movie holds no continuity to the story of the games at all. The fact that they use duel wrist blades before Ezio conceived them is one example. Or there's the fact that there's a second apple. If you've seen the commercials, of course you know about the Animus... anyway, I recommend that you don't watch this movie.
