About this movie

In 2013, NSA contractor Edward Snowden leaked a large number of classified documents to the media, exposing the U.S. government’s covert surveillance activities. Some call the whistleblower a hero, while others call him a traitor. Spanning his time in the Army, the CIA and the NSA, Snowden uncovers the extent of the government’s spying programs, coming to the realization that the public’s understanding of privacy is far from the truth. His acts have been classified as treason and have made him one of the most wanted men in the world. (Original Title - Snowden) - 2016 Universal Studios. All Rights Reserved.

Good intro into the subject, unfortunately didst state out right that what the US Government was allowing: A weapon of WAR being used against innocence. With most US citizens you really got to spoon feed information to the American public as well as most other people. Kept calling it spying, no no no what the intelligence community was doing is not a gentle as spying its espionage IT IS A ACT OF WAR. Which if you know anything about the US Constitution, US citizens no longer have normal rights anymore. But like i said a good starter into the subject. I also took a screen shot of credits near the end "...Actual Historical Events."

Joseph Gordon Levitt gives an extremely convincing portrayal of a very complicated and lacy characterization of Snowden. As the film progresses, you feel more and more that it IS Snowden in the film. What makes it interesting is that Levitt captures the brilliant geek side and the other human side of a man that is no different than we are when we see what we believe to be injustice. You can see why Snowden would have such a beautiful girl friend, as portrayed by Shailene Woodley, also, a great performance. There is a sexual tension and attraction that brings you into the human side of the story, you want to root for the leads facing such a fate. This is done without any tricks or cliches. The story itself is so well written and the film so wonderfully edited, you are glued to the screen. It is exciting to watch, I highly recommend the film and you will not be disappointed. One of Oliver Stone's best films!

This movie is absolutely a must see. This movie is not only a movie you would watch for entertainment, but for me, its prime purpose is to tell the story of the world hero known as "Edward Snowden", who exposed the tyrannical reaches and power of a partial tyrannical world superpower, the United States of America, from the highest level, inside the Intelligence community. This movie to my knowledge has NO dis-information and is a very good way to teach the people the journey this man took to release the innocent people of this country (and the world) from the grip of tyrannical social spying called "Big Brother".
