About this movie

Academy Award(R) winner Billy Bob Thornton, Dennis Quaid, and Jason Patric team up for the acclaimed action epic about one of the most important events in American history! It's the heroic tale of the 200 brave men who made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of freedom defending a small Texas fort for 13 days against an entire army! Commanded by three men -- Lt. Col. William Travis (Patrick Wilson), James Bowie (Patric), and David Crockett (Thornton) -- their against-all-odds courage at the Alamo would forever live on as a rallying cry for liberty and independence!

"Men fighting for liberty an independence?" Well it doesn't explain why Jackson sent no aid & annexed Texas on his last day in office. It also is difficult to believe the nobility of the sacrifice when the dispute arose over the issue of some of the Texas immigrants wanting to keep their slaves, was it? Also the myth doesn't bear up under scrutiny of the value of liberty when in 1860 the Republic of Texas joins a confederacy that supported the institution of slavery. But it's Cute story.

I am actual surprised the republican never sent in the blonde girl. After all the King was across the border. In fact the other way around Davey Crockett sold his king in the wild frontier for a wealthy Mexican.

While not the greatest film ever made this is the only movie about the Texas Revolution that's actually any good. With that said I can see why it was a major flop because unless you live or are from Texas the Alamo and the war in general unfortunately doesn't really interest most people.
