Really good movie. I'm not sure but I think it was the first movie to tackle such a serious subject as suicide. The only thing I will say I'd that it didn't age well and to know that this beat Psycho that has bothered me after watching this. It's still one of the best movies of its time for the writing and the subject it deals with it.

The guy in the movie, john lemonhead or whatever, sexually harassed this young woman, saying, ``You should see my backhand`` I will have you know, that I do not appreciate woman abuse and I will not take this ugly peice of film as a great movie. Sincerely, The one that don't weigh a ton.

so.....this probably won the Best Picture Oscar because of Billy Wilder, but I also love the magic of Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine! I'm not one to write a synopsis in my review. One is provided. I try to explain why I believe you should take the time to watch this wonderful, quirky movie. It's fun to watch Lemmon's character fall in love with MacLaine's. His problem is he is insecure and it's strange, but it doesnt bother him that she is having an affair with his married boss. He's on a quest. He wants to "save her" and the thing is, he does!
