About this show

Based on Lev Grossman's best-selling book series, "The Magicians" follows Quentin Coldwater, a highly intelligent but socially withdrawn twenty-something secretly obsessed with a series of fantasy novels he read as a child about a magical land called Fillory. Beyond that, Quentin's life is dull until he finds himself admitted to a very secret, exclusive college of magic in Upstate New York, where he receives a thorough and rigorous education in the practice of modern sorcery. However, magic doesn't bring the happiness, adventure, and meaning that he thought it would…until he and his friends discover that Fillory is real.

Utter trash. "The Magicians" was clearly made by a bunch of self righteous prick Boomers/gen X's. Who use this garbage to mock the younger generations. Though we are significantly economically disadvantaged, due to their selfishness and inability to raise children properly. There is no fantasy here, just an old bitter generation sucking your time and money. The characters are purposefully week and stupid, meant to degrade us, so they can make as many seasons as possible. Don't waste your time.

July 21 2016 Revisited February 02 2020 I gave this show a 4 star rating. But after having made it to the season finale of the last (and final) season for this show I'm rendering a 5-star review. In my opinion I believe this show is truly worthy of it. But it's my opinion. When you choose to watch something, anything, you have your own notions of what you expect and are willing to accept from the experience. This experience started out no different but it didn't necessarily end that way. I did say before that this show was truly great and I still hold to that claim but it was truly so much more, perhaps even a modern-day classic. I urge you, the viewer, to watch for yourselves and have, consider and enjoy your own.

Ive watched this show 2 times now and its still awesome. Theres so much about it to love, the characters, their stories, their growth. This has become my favorite show and I plan on watching it again when im done. it has so much depth that I don't think its possible to fully appreciate its greatness on the first watch through. The singing grew on me and the ending of season 4 maybe the greatest ending to any show ever. its really up there with the game of thrones ending like I rewinded it to watch it like 2-3 more times lol. please watch.
