Set in post-Civil War America, Hell on Wheels tells the story of ex-Confederate soldier Cullen Bohannon and his quest for revenge over the wartime death of his wife during the construction of the first Transcontinental Railroad.

This show has some fierce, die hard fans. I first watched it 1 year ago. Sadly, it's final shows are coming up summer 2016. I don't like the split season either, but that's the way it is. It's clear that there are some old scores to settle. Fierce/diehard fans want more episodes, but we understand the actors want to go onto other things. Before summer 2016 arrives, I am somehow going to view the entire show, from season 1, episode 1. That project should answer a lot of questions. Enjoy!

A really great series that has original historical context. As a resident of Wyoming I appreciate the importance and influence of rail in the development of our state. The Wyoming Territory - right on, the provisional governor Campbell (there is a Campbell County) - right on, screwing the Native Americans over (sadly) - right on, the strong women - right on (WY was the first state to give women the right to vote), and the drive to self determination aka personal responsibility - right on. Bring on Season 5!

Watched all the episodes so far and its good. I think it can be a little bit slow at times, but overall it's worth renting the series especially if you enjoy watching the full seasons without commericals like myself.
