About this movie

Magnus Carlsen was very different from his peers. He usually sat by himself, lost in thought, and his parents, Henrik and Sigrun, were concerned about his relative development. When a strong interest in numbers made them realize that he could become a good chess player, they introduced him to the game at the tender age of 5. In 2004, when Magnus was 13 years old, he made a decision: he would become the World Chess Champion. The coming of age story unfolds as we follow the prodigy as he battles his way through the ranks of chess masters through personal sacrifice and with the help of special friendships and a caring family.

A great inspiring documentary but the movie was bit biased against Vishy with some critical comments such as he recites moves which was a completely nonsense comment if you really play the game. Regardless, Magnus no doubt has earned a unique place in the world of chess which he truly deserves. He has been an inspiration to kids all around the world more than any other chess legend.

Film très sympa si on aime les échecs, mais dommage que les parties soit survolé de très loin, on aimerait pouvoir mieux lire les coups et les postions, comme dans la série le jeu de la dame

Even if you don't like chess (I do) it's a must watch. Magus truly is a beautiful mind.
