Opinions of this movie are very split. Most who have a sense for the weird 'got it', and loved it. Those who didn't like it probably don't like obscurity and weirdness, and are probably also not interested in the philosophical discourses on capitalism, technology, and schisms in society. I personally found it a very thought-provoking, entertaining film, created with the cold precision, detail, and intellectualism so characteristic of David Cronenberg.

This movie is a commentary on the life of man as he moves from stage to stage and meets both those around him and himself. Robert Pattison is brilliant. One of the best young actors of our time and this movie highlights his talent beautifully. If you try to watch this movie in a linear way with typically developing plot expectations, you will be disappointed. That's not what it's supposed to be. It's a multifaceted prism by which one can look at one's self and reflect on what one has been, is, and will be.

I enjoy watching movies that take a off beat approach to story telling and with a good director you can get some great shots and just an all together enjoyable viewing experience. This movie had that with a convoluted story that leaves you not sure why you just watched this movie. It hinted at having a story or plot multiple times but never actually delivered. Enjoyed it though, good acting. 2.5 imo
