To make sure I had a good perspective, I rewatched the first ghostbusters right before seeing this one at the theater. (the second one didn't happen, except for Peter MacNicol of course) This new one held its own just fine. Kate McKinnon and Chris Hemsworth had excellent comedic timing and Kate was better than any character in the original. (and I LOVE me some Bill Murray) There were some bits that could've been improved, but I've yet to see a movie where I don't have a comparable number of similar thoughts. While people are entitled to their opinions of course, as a statistical analyst by trade it's pretty clear from the IMDB ratings that a deliberate effort was made before the movie was released to downvote it and that effort was skewed in a way that does not appear comparable to any other movie I can find (lots of males, and a huge percentage before it was even released). I'd strongly advise taking those ratings with a grain of salt (and if you know somebody who downvoted the movie without seeing it, straighten their butt out, there's no reason for them to be part of the problem)

Let me start off by saying that there was no reason for this film to be made. The first film was an absolutely hilarious film that was able to get laughs without needing to jam every second with jokes. to be fail there were points that I laughed during Ghostbusters 2016, but they were far an few between. Most of the time I was cringing at how lame most of the humor was. you could tell there were times they tried too hard, and there were other parts that they seemed to be worn out for a scene. I think this film could have been better if they had taken some risks rather than bland non offensive humor. They could have done better if they had taken more chances and rocked the boat some. Some of the "He Man Woman Haters" say this was a feminist film, but honestly it wasn't. They were to afraid to own up to what they were doing with the film and let some sexist comments online make them tone it down. That being said I don't think that would have saved the film, but it would have given it more to work with. In the end there is no way any film could have lived up to the original Ghostbusters or its underappreciated sequel. The table was just too stacked against the filmmakers and the actors to make any kind of success with a reboot of such a beloved series.

Movie was great and has a lot of potential if given a chance without negative impact. Never judge a movie based off of anyone else's review. Also, from reading what others have constantly said "negatively" about this film, without giving it a chance, shows what type of state this nation is in. The film was great and I have noticed a lot of individuals are calling the film "terrible" or "sorry" without realizing that some (or one for sure) of THE ORIGINAL GHOSTBUSTERS (Dan Aykroyd) had a main hand in the film as one of the Executive Producers!! But then again, I am not surprised from the sexist and racist comments, seeing as this is a nation that actually has an individual like Donald Trump SERIOUSLY running for the highest office in the land! All 4 of these ladies did a great job and did their absolute best in paying homage to a classic! As for other viewers to this film, keep an open mind! While the film itself had it's ups and downs, All 4 women did their part in keeping this film Fun and Interesting as well as nice on screen chemistry!
