About this movie

Sam Shepard co-wrote and stars in Wim Wenders' drama that was nominated for the Palme d'Or at the 2005 Cannes Film Festival. Howard Spence (Shepard) is a former Western movie star now reduced to supporting roles and the fleeting comforts of drugs, alcohol and young girls. After an especially debauched night, Howard flees from a movie set and travels to Elko, Nevada to visit his aged mother (Eva Marie Saint), who informs him that he may have a child. Howard leaves for Butte, Montana, where 25 years earlier he had an affair with Doreen (Jessica Lange). Howard's attempts to connect with Doreen's son Earl (Gabriel Mann) and girlfriend Amber (Fairuza Balk) are unsettling. But when out of nowhere a young woman named Sky (Sarah Polley) appears, the real complications of this American family reunion begin. 2005 Reverse Angle Production GmbH and Reverse Angle International GmbH.
