About this movie

Maria Enders (Binoche) is a renowned actress at the peak of her career. But when she’s cast opposite a young Hollywood starlet with a penchant for scandal (Moretz) in a new production of the play that first made her famous, Maria must come to terms with what it means to be a middle-aged actress in a youth-obsessed industry. Retreating high into the mountains with her personal assistant (Stewart), Maria confronts her personal demons and prepares for the most important role of her life. Set amidst the scenic splendor of the Swiss Alps, Clouds of Sils Maria is propelled by tour-de-force performances from three actresses at the top of their game.

Was waiting for an amazing performance from Binoche...it never comes; she sloppily uses & abuses those around her. There is a nuance of curiosity if Binoche is either toying with the idea of Suicide in real life OR battling an end-stage illness. Stewart had this amazing chance, then *literally* DISAPPEARS. My favorite line is actually Moretz's when she says Binoche's character is "...ya know, washed up." That is actually an accurate summary of the film.

I loved Kristen Stewart in this movie. Anyone who still has the bad taste of her in Snow White and the Huntsman and the Twilight series should really give her a chance in this movie. Chloe Grace Moretz was great as well. Now I've never been a fan of Juliette Binoche I think she's a one-dimensional love-sick puppy dog in every damn thing she's in. But her puppy dog type casting does work for this film.

It was very long; although they needed the time to build the complex relationship between these two women. Kristen Stewart was great. Felt Binoche was overdoing it and it showed in her character's lack of believability. The biggest gripe I had was the ending. Yes, (Val) was trying to prove a point but it leaves you going WTH? They didn't close the loop... didn't address it other than Binoche moving on like nothing ever happened. Really disappointing.
