About this movie

From David Chase, creator of The Sopranos, comes a story about discovering your passions, following your dreams and finding yourself. Itメs the 1960s and Rock and Roll is changing the world. Inspired by a bold new era and his success in a local band, Douglas (John Magaro) drops out of college to pursue his musical dreams, only to discover the harsh realities of the music industry. Douglas is forced to choose between listening to his father or listening to his heart in a film Rolling Stone calls モA gritty, graceful salute to Rock & Rollヤ*. *Peter Travers, Rolling Stone

I love rock n roll history, especially the 1960s, but walked away from this movie feeling nothing for any of the characters. They were difficult to know because of the pace of the movie and, consequently, hard to empathize with. I turned it off about halfway through and just skimmed to the end.

The soundtrack is good in the movie, but the film will leave you scratching your head. There's no real growth and scenes are often cut short for no good reason.

And so much more. It examines the risk we all run of falling into oblivion. And it does it brilliantly. Definitely a must see.
