Contrary to the negative reviews most by bots or homophobic trolls. I found this movie to be very poignant and relevant without being preachy. I don't think this is "gay propaganda"and it's based on a true story. I think it should be required viewing for any Junior high or high schoolers about the ramifications of bullying and hiding behind Christ and the Bible to condemn and judge people. That is not what God is about! This isn't a "gay" movie,it's a movie about a father and a son.

Interesting how the reviews are so polarized, but average out to what the movie really is: a 3-star mediocre movie. With a thin plot, I don't know what more to do with the movie; just glad that at an hour and a half they didn't try to do more with it merely by lengthening the film. Perhaps if told from the point of view of Justin Bell the plot would have been more interesting.

I am not opposed to the topic at hand but I think that it was very poorly constructed and super redundant. It seemed like every scene of this movie simply repeated the last scene. Highly disappointed in this Wahlberg movie.
