I saw this by chance when it was back to back Pilot and Ep. 1. If you've read White Trash Zombie you would definitely recognize all the similarities. Not sure if they're giving the book credit but the book is a winner. Not what you'd expect. Neither is this show. It has enough premise to stay strong for a few seasons. Keep an open mind until you understand what's going on. The pilot was ok but Ep. 1 really pulls it all together and then some.

This show could have easily turned out to be cheesy but, its not. The story keeps the viewer interested and the acting is great. The only problem I see is the morgue aspect. Only two people working in the morgue? Very unlikely. Other than that this show is well written and directed.

Zany, fresh, and delightfully macabre, this show doesn't shy away from the gruesome, which is evident by the main character's shtick of eating brains. It's a different twist on the zombie genre, one I think, that is much needed. The Walking Dead takes things to far in other direction. Sometimes zombie lovers need a little more humor, a little less heartbreak. Not that IZombie isn't hard hitting, but at it softens the blows.
