The Florida Project

If you are looking for entertainment, this is not. Feel quite depressed after watching this movie. Not sure what the point of this movie is. It does not give much hope. Maybe that is the reality?! Hopefully the social service can really help the little girl, as the mom definitely is not fit to be a mother.

OK. You must watch this movie. It is incredible . No, if you are into movies like "Geostorm", perhaps this is not for you. But man, this director, Sean Baker(?), nails it. He has the perfect blend of actors and new or non actors. The little girl in this movie is out of this world. She has a scene where she is literally just eating and can't take your eyes off of her. It was filmed on film and not digital and they only use natural lighting. The story is told essentially from the Viewpoint of children and the seemingly vast and open world that they live in. However, the adults are living, essentially, in squalor. And her mother is trying, albeit not the most ethical means, to keep things afloat. It's also about shedding light on this very bizarre part of American culture near and around Disney World. The sort of low income housing type motels that all have to be painted a certain color to match the "motif" of Disney World. This is real and the title of the movie was the actual name that Disney used when they originally created this area, and called it the Florida project. This movie is definitely worth watching. Yes, it is a "slower pour", but as they say, good things come to those who wait. Only a total of 10 people reviewed this? Let's crank up those numbers here people!
