Under The Shadow

Lot of hype around this film from critics. Personally I thought it was great and lived up to it.Not typical 'horror' film but suspense and subtle threat levels made it all the more creepy for me. The tone of film brilliantly done with the time, location and historical setting making it very different from other films with similar theme. Would suggest to anyone who was looking for something bit different within this genre

Great film. Lovely to see a part of the world I personally have little knowledge of crafting quality like this. As a result I now look out for more Iranian films and really recommend The Salesman too if you dig this. Spooky, atmospheric and there's some sort of social commentary in there that wasn't completely lost on me. Granted, it probably won't appeal to the popcorn masses, but I don't somehow think that was the target audience in any case. I know how that sounds, but it's true IMO.

With all the hype that Mark Kermode from the Guardian gave this film, he made it sound like the greatest horror for years and years. I wish I never listened to him. This film is average at best. Avoid.
