About this movie

“Doctor Sleep” is the continuation of Danny Torrance’s story 40 years after the terrifying events of Stephen King’s The Shining. Still irrevocably scarred by the trauma he endured as a child at the Overlook, Dan Torrance has fought to find some semblance of peace. But that peace is shattered when he encounters Abra, a courageous teenager with her own powerful extrasensory gift, known as the “shine.” Instinctively recognizing that Dan shares her power, Abra has sought him out, desperate for his help against the merciless Rose the Hat and her followers, The True Knot, who feed off the shine of innocents in their quest for immortality. Forming an unlikely alliance, Dan and Abra engage in a brutal life-or-death battle with Rose. Abra’s innocence and fearless embrace of her shine compel Dan to call upon his own powers as never before—at once facing his fears and reawakening the ghosts of the past.

It was to jumpy and convoluted, we didn't need to see about the teen convert-i.e. how they became what they are that could have saved us a full 10 mins and we could have cut out some of the first part and started with Tony showing him the box Just unneeded things, then things went from zero to 100 with Rosie while we just implied the girl and danny built this wonderful relationship over eight years. The script focused on the wrong things. Now it had it's moments but just like the book which I could not get past for first 100 pages it was long and overall boring. add to it that it took me 4 hrs to watch the movie as Google playback was HORRIBLE even switching to other languages out the blue as well. for new folks it may be good, but it was only decent to me.

Meh... it fails miserably as a sequel to the Stanley Kubrick masterpiece. The "energy vampires" are lame and seemingly have a sole purpose in the film as a motivator to get Danny Torrence to return back to the hotel and even worse, the ending of the movie is revealed halfway through the film (hospice room seen) and it really robs you of any intrigue you might have for the story/charature development. Not a terrible movie but i just expect more from a supernatural thriller

Just extremely strong and graphic moments that truly disgusted me. Movies are going too far when it comes to shock and surprise where it was just inhuman and really makes me see why the world is dealing with what it's dealing with. Morally and ethically desolate and deprived are things in movies and tv today. I mean after watching this makes me feel the world deserves much worse than a respiratory virus if this is what we as humans are cranking out on a big mainstream media scale today.
