I had A LOT of hype for this movie, but after watching this movie. It leaves a very sour taste in my mouth. To be honest - it has good effects, world building, cast. I really thought it was going somewhere good but I felt the story was so rushed. The romance was really cringing and in poor taste. I really think they could have gone a better direction with the story and character building. I do sort of want a sequel to this movie - just cuz I really do like the story. (Hey twilight series was bad but they came out with 5 movies) if they do come out with another one - PLEASE BE BETTER

If you love dystopian, Sci fi or just curious movies this is great. There are a few plot holes, but every movie has one at least. This isn't ridiculous with them, but it's entertaining, has you cheering for the good guys and, although not obvious, foreshadows the ending in a crazy way. I was tempted to just restart the movie again and want a sequel. If you're a fan of Red Rising books, this is awesome.

I don't know why critics are being so harsh I guess the critics these days need a paycheck and didn't receive it in the mail to give a fair review. I found it to be like other teen movies such as Harry Potter and The Twilight series which all turned out to live a long and healthy life. Its a different take on a fun set of novels and was great despite the lack of budget with a lot more potential if properly supported. Rotten Tomatoes has become another pay for a review site that used to be trust worthy but as you can see after watching many of the movies they say are Rotten you come away scratching your head because when they claim its great it usually isn't but when its a bad review you end up liking it, kind of weird wouldn't you say? Just a suggestion live a little and make up your own minds about a movie most of us are just in for simple fun and creativeness that takes you on a journey.
