About this movie

When her husband suddenly dumps her, longtime dedicated housewife Deanna (Melissa McCarthy) turns regret into re-set by going back to college…landing in the same class and school as her daughter, who’s not entirely sold on the idea. Plunging headlong into the campus experience, the increasingly outspoken Deanna—now Dee Rock— embraces freedom, fun and frat boys on her own terms, finding her true self in a senior year no one ever expected.

This movie tries to be "cool" and "funny", but its a very poor attempt. Tries to unite middle aged & teens together, however, it doesn't work. McCarthy isn't funny...except for her ridiculous dance scenes, in which she makes herself look more like a beached wale out of water then anything else. Save ur money!

I love Melissa McCarthy but ... Damn, this was bad. I really wanted to like this movie. I am getting so sick of old guy, ex-husband, men are jerks, bashing movies .. I had to fast forward the movie over so many of the meaningless, awkward , just awful parts of the movie, until I gave up on it. 2 stars just for Melissa, she needs much better scripts.

Wow i was scared to rent this after reading the reviews. It maybe lowered my expectations. This was an adorable comedy with understated jokes which made it funnier. I'm in my 50's, female. So maybe this may not work for a 35 y.o. male. I lOved the casting, and Melissa McC's sincerity which she brings to the screen. "Gosh, She's so upbeat" ( in the words of bill murray in groundhog day). I l♡ked it.
