Much like the first movie, the first half of this sequel is excellent, but as the plot unravels, so too does the rest of the movie. Logical inconsistencies and wasted potential destroy what could have been a fantastic horror movie. This director has a firm grasp of tension, it's just a shame it gets pretty repetitive with no real payoff. Perhaps the most interesting creative choice was to retcon the first film, despite having the same writer, keeping the best part of the original concept intact.

(SMALL SPOILER ALERT)! :P After reading a few of the reviews of this movie, I just wanted to let you know that renting this movie wasn't a waste of my money at all! :) I don't want to give any spoilers, buuuutttt I do want to say that I thought it was cool that they included some of the stuff that they did in the film. It made the story of this doll more interesting. At first, I thought this movie was going to be in the past - how Brahms came to be (similar to the Conjuring series) but it ended up taking place in modern day. However, I still really liked the movie! And, they did a great job making this movie creepy. I feel like horror/thriller movies now a days are starting to become a little bland. But, this one was really well done and it kept me on my toes! Hopefully there will be a 3rd movie that shows us how this doll came to be in the first place. I really recommend it! :)
