As Ah-Chew on Sanford and Son or as Arnold on Happy Days, Morita was a beloved Asian American performer, unique at the time for being so visible, prominent, and bankable. But Morita also had his demons and struggles even though he didn't show it. Mostly, they all went into his drinking, and it would ultimately also be his biggest enemy.
