S1 E17: Eddie (Brad Garrett) and Joy (Joely Fisher) visit their daughter Allison (Krysten Ritter) for Parents Weekend at her college and are stunned when she announces that she is majoring in “Ceramic Studies.” Between finding out that Allison is taking a semester off to work for a pottery outreach program with her teacher’s assistant Doug (Timm Sharp), and sharing a dorm room with Paul “single dad” Nash (Dan Butler), Eddie and Joy do not have the weekend they envisioned. Meanwhile, Jeff (Eddie Kaye Thomas) hires a tile guy (Hector Luis Bustamante) to help Steph (Kat Foster) with their bathroom in hopes of not getting involved. But Jeff’s plan backfires when Steph asks for his honest opinion.
