About this movie

Dani and Christian are a young American couple with a relationship on the brink of falling apart. But after a family tragedy keeps them together, a grieving Dani invites herself to join Christian and his friends on a trip to a once-in-a-lifetime midsummer festival in a remote Swedish village. What begins as a carefree summer holiday in a land of eternal sunlight takes a sinister turn when the insular villagers invite their guests to partake in festivities that render the pastoral paradise increasingly unnerving and viscerally disturbing. From the visionary mind of Ari Aster comes a dread-soaked cinematic fairytale where a world of darkness unfolds in broad daylight.

Without any redeeming quality at all, Midsommar is pretentious, stupid, non creative, boring. whoever wrote this has no concept of writing a good coherent story. He/she just wrote whatever the weird stuff came into his/her mind. A series of "this happens" and "that happens" and nothing really matters and there is no emotional attachment, no excitement, just pure garbage. Acting is fine but the story and all the weird stuff that's unnecessary and inconsequential pissed me off. Weird just for the sake of being weird is horrendous. Can't comprehend why the film maker is called a master. As far as production goes It's not bad.. but it fails in any other department miserably. Hereditary while weird serve some interesting and emotionally attached story telling with consequential undertake and we have Toni collette's character as the anchor for the emotional journey. This one is just dull or did i say stupid? and it's certainly a certified premium trash. One more thing the sound editing/mixing is completely IRRITATING. It goes from a very small volume dialog scenes and then on the other scenes the sound intensifies with unbalanced volume with no narrative purpose whatsoever so it can qualify itself as a horror genre(this is what i call pretentious). It just maddening and very unprofessional in film making. Spare your time, Save your money. The worst movie of 2019 or maybe even the decade of 2010s and quite possibly of all time. 0 stars out of 4

You will either love it or hate it. If you enjoy movies where it leaves you thinking about it for days if not weeks or months after, doing a bit of research about it, or rewatching to catch all the minor details, then this is right up your alley. In essence this is an adult "Fairytale", breakup story with aspects of a psychological thriller. Amazing cinematography from Ari Aster and amazing cast, Florence Pugh captured that sense of grief that i thought only Toni Collette could do in Hereditary.

Sighs, considering that I've been a horror movie lover my whole life,I'm not sure where to begin. This movie started off as if it could be good, but it quickly took a really dark turn.. It was horrendous, disturbing, and lacked purpose. I'm embarrassed i even watched the whole thing in public in a theater, and i still wished that i could get my money back.
